"You can't think your way into right action, but you can act your way into right thinking." — AA proverb

Today's Reflection

I heard this one early on and it kind of annoyed me. I wanted to think my way out of everything — plan the perfect recovery, read the right books, figure it all out in my head before I did anything. That's how I'd always operated.

But the thing about sobriety is that clarity doesn't come from thinking harder. It comes from doing the next small thing. Go to the meeting even when you don't feel like it. Call the person back. Show up to the thing you committed to. The understanding comes after, not before.

I think that's what messes with a lot of us — we want to feel ready before we act. But you almost never feel ready. You just go, and then one day you realize you've been building something real this whole time.

Today's Practice

Pick one thing you've been putting off because you "don't feel ready" — a conversation, a meeting, an apology, a workout. Do it today. Don't wait until you feel like it. Just go.

You don't have to have it all figured out. Talk tomorrow.

This isn't a clinical newsletter. It's not a substitute for meetings, sponsors, or therapy. It's a daily nudge from someone who's been in those rooms and also lives in the real world — navigating careers, relationships, and the weird quiet of a Friday night at home.

Wherever you are in your journey — day one or year fifty — you're welcome here. It's not about being perfect. It's about showing up, being honest, and doing the next right thing.

One email. Every morning. That's it.

Tomorrow morning starts now.

Join and start your day grounded.
